KEVIN KOPFSTEIN

Kevin started writing and performing stand-up comedy in 1988 and was a founding member of the Funny Farm Comedy Collective with whom he won the Glasgow Herald’s Spirit of Mayfest Award in 1989.

After years of performing and travelling all over the country, he moved from Scotland to London in 1995. This enabled Kevin to firmly establish himself on the London comedy circuit, performing in all major comedy clubs including London’s famous Comedy Store.

In 1997 Kevin made his first trip to Australia as part of an International Tour. A sell out season and rave reviews ensured his return in ‘98 and ‘99 for the Adelaide Fringe Festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and headline spots at the Sydney Comedy Store. Kevin came to love Australian audiences as much as they loved him, one woman in particular whom he married!

Since settling in Australia, Kevin has been a regular guest on 2 Day FM, Fox FM, Triple J and the Triple M network. He has also appeared on ABC TV, Foxtel, Channel 10 and spent two years on Adelaide’s Triple M Breakfast Show.

I addition to his stand-up career, Kevin has also written for the B.B.C. sketch show, Haywire and has just finished writing his first sitcom (with development funding from the South Australian Film Corporation). He has also contributed several humorous articles to the Melbourne Age newspaper.

Kevin Kopfstein is a very versatile comedian and writer. Combining hilarious observational and surreal humour, Kevin has created a unique and highly original act. He has a very friendly and relaxed style, which even the coldest of audiences soon warm to.
