HITCHENS
A recently converted Tasmanian and hailing from the capital of porn and
politics, Peta Hitchens is an avid equestrian, punting fanatic and newbie on the
stand-up scene. Having performed at Big Laughs in the Little Pub (New Sydney
Hotel), The Loft, O’Sheas (Canberra) and a product of Gavin Baskerville’s
Stand-Up for Beginners & the Terrified (definitely being the latter) in
September 2007, she has truly got the comedy bug. Trifling with the idea of
dropping her Doctorate to be funny fulltime, her parents are considering
intervention. Peta’s only previous performance experience was in the role of
Prince Charming in a primary school play, where she found the benefits of
standing on a box. Nice.
